摘要
We compare two equivalent solutions to the Holstein-Biberman equation of radiative transfer, and transform Holstein's diffusion modes to a representation that considers consecutive generations of scattered photons. As an example for this general transformation experimental results obtained by pulse excitation of the first resonance line of rubidium by a diode laser are compared with time dependent resonance fluorescence calculated by means of a simple model. The probability for multiple photon scattering and the average number of scatterings are calculated for the experimental situation.
