摘要
The temperature dependence of the luminescence of natural quartz induced by X-rays between 80 and 800 K is investigated. Using afterglow investigations, the temperature dependence of the low temperature luminescence is chiefly given by an activator level lying 60 mev above the valence band and on the other hand by nonradiative transitions of electrons activated by thermal energy of 260 mev. As well as in the case of low temperature luminescence between 250 and 800 K an afterglow occurs, but now with evidently longer decay times. Using the temperature dependence of that afterglow, some activation energies are found and so, in agreement with thermoluminescence investigations, a mathematical forecast of the position of glowpeaks becomes possible.
