摘要
This article briefly reviews recent contributions, mainly by the authors, to relaxation dynamics. The decay characteristics (in particular the temperature dependence) of the picosecond relaxation in the excited state of color centers, namely the Ag- in KI and the FA(II) in KCl:Li are interpreted by a vibrational relaxation within the same electronic state, using classical and quantal descriptions. The two approaches are compared and discussed. In the case of Ag- it is suggested that an important role is played by a tunneling mechanism concomitant with the relaxation process. © 1990.
