摘要
Diamond deposition by the HF-CVD method on ceramic substrates is strongly dependent on the nature of the substrate itself. Chemical reactions between the substrate and the reaction gas influence the nucleation period, since a prerequisite for diamond nucleation and deposition is the formation of a suitable surface. Substrates which react slowly with the reaction gas generally have a higher nucleation density than those which react rapidly. Adhesion of diamond coatings on ceramic materials depends not only on differences in the expansion coefficients of diamond and substrate used, but also on the above-mentioned chemical reactions.
