摘要
A 60/40 polymer blend of polycarbonate of bisphenol A (PC) with a styrene‐co‐acrylonitrile (SAN) copolymer was prepared by melt compounding. Injection molded sheets of this, blend were annealed at 200°C as a function of time. The phase morphology of these sheets, studied using transmission and scanning electron microscopy, was found to coarsen as a function of the annealing time. Using the Chalkey procedure, the microstructure of the annealed blends was quantified. Initial tensile stress‐strain data highlight the influence of microstructure on ductility for these co‐continuous blends. Copyright © 1990 Society of Plastics Engineers
