Polycrystalline samples of PLKZT with the composition Pb0.93(La1-xKx)0.07(Zr0.65Ti0.35)O3 (where x = 0, 0.1, 0.3, 0.5 and 0.7) have been synthesized by a chemical method. X-ray studies of the compounds suggest the formation of a single-phase material. Studies of the dielectric constant and dielectric loss as a function of temperature (room temperature to 350-degrees-C) at 1 and 10 kHz frequencies suggest that the compound has relaxor behaviour and undergoes a diffuse type of phase transition.
