Describes a new technique designed to accelerate growth in therapy, a method which has grown out of research in stimulated recall. Clients are confronted with films which encourage them to stimulate interpersonal relations, and the client and film are videotaped while the S watches the film. The video tape is then played back while a counselor, trained in recall technique, helps the client examine his reactions to the film. Certain of the Ss physiological functions may also be recorded and played back along with the images on the video tape. The S's video-taped behavior thus becomes the focus for a personal counseling session. Potential application to counseling is discussed.
