THEORY OF AN ATOMIC INTERFEROMETER IN THE RAMAN-NATH REGIME

摘要
We give a detailed description of an atomic interferometer in which a gaussian beam of two-level atoms interacts with two separated standing waves. We consider specifically a situation where the atom-field interaction is sufficiently off-resonance that spontaneous emission can be ignored, and the Raman-Nath regime which neglects phase-matching and where multiple scattering orders can occur. © 1990.
