摘要
Electrochemical and biomimetic studies show that some carboxylic acids stabilize manganese(III) in aqueous solution by complex formation. Malonic acid was found to be the most efficient ligand among the acids used. It has been shown that manganese(III)-α-hydroxycarboxylic acid complexes function as diffusible oxidants in lignin model compound oxidations and the mediating efficiency of these complexes are not directly related to their redox potentials. © 1990 Walter de Gruyter
