Thick films of Bi1.7Pb0.3Sr2CaCu2Oy on Ag substrate have been prepared by electrophoretic deposition, followed by a melt-quench-anneal process to promote grain growth and alignment. Magnetization measurements at 4.2 K yield a critical current density of 6 x 10(4)-0.8 x 10(4) A cm-2 at 2-50 kOe based on film thickness.
