摘要
Extended milling of BaFe12O19 powder in air results in multiple components with evidence for: structurally disordered BaFe12O19 and alpha-Fe2O3, a disordered/amorphous phase, and superparamagnetic relaxation effects due to the fine particles. The multi-phase nature is found to remain on annealing at 500 degrees C in air or vacuum whereas annealing al 1000 degrees C causes crystalline BaFe12O19 with increased magnetic coercivity to be formed.
