This paper discusses the relationship between the miscibility and physical properties of poly(2,6-dimethyl-1,4-phenylene oxide, PPO) and polystyrene (PS). high impact polystyrene (IPS) and styrene-butadiene styrene (SBS), which are blended into different compositions by the twin screw. The three types of SBS that we used are SBS], SBS2 and SBS3 and have different styrene/butadiene ratios. We used DMA (dynamic mechanical analysis) and DSC (differential scanning calorimetry) to study their miscibility. The miscibility of these blends decreases with the decrease in PS content. The notch sensitivity is improved by blending.
