摘要
A study was made with the objective to develop passive techniques that result in a net reduction in surface shear stress due to boundary-layer turbulence. The thrust of this study was to employ detailed flow visualization to examine the modifications of the turbulent flow structure caused by surface riblets. Results of attempts to determine changes in the turbulent flow structure precipitated by the riblet surface relative to a conventional flat-plate flow are reported.
