FADING CHARACTERISTICS OF IRRADIATED ALANINE PELLETS - THE IMPORTANCE OF PREIRRADATION CONDITIONING

摘要
One of the prime reasons for the increasing popularity of the alanine ESR method as a reference dosimetry system is the stability of the post-irradiation signal. This allows the system to be confidently used as a postal dosimetry service and as a method of 'dose archiving'. Studies of the fading of NPL alanine pellets indicate that the stability of the irradiated dosimeters is dependent on changes in pellet water content rather than the absolute amount of water that the pellet contains.
