Timing and interrelation of magmatic, tectonic, and hydrothermal activity at the Orcopampa district, southern Peru

This paper presents K-Ar and 40Ar/39Ar age determination on vein and alteration minerals and on phenocrysts from unaltered rocks at the Orcopampa district, southern Peru. These data (constrain the relationships between hydrothermal activity and mineralization, magmatism, and normal faults, and, in conjunction with various other data from Orcopampa and other mineral districts, provide some insights into the origin of epithermal precious metal deposits.
