TUNNELING BETWEEN LOCALIZED STATES IN CLASSICALLY CHAOTIC SYSTEMS

摘要
A new kind of tunneling for quantum systems which are strongly chaotic in the classical limit is studied. The distinctive features of this tunneling are entirely due to strong localization of chaotic eigenstates in the unperturbed basis of the system. The effect of different symmetries on the structure of such eigenstates is analyzed on the basis of the generalized kicked rotator model.
