The structure parameters of superconducting and nonsuperconducting TlSr2CaCu2O7-z were refined using neutron-powder-diffraction data on the basis of P4/mmm space group. A 1d site of oxygen on a TlO sheet is considerably deficient even in the oxygen-rich nonsuperconducting sample; the occupation factor of this site was refined to be 0.88. It decreases to 0.80 in the superconducting sample with a T(c) of 58 K. That is, the change in oxygen content and the corresponding one in hole concentration are caused by incorporation and release of oxygen atoms on the TlO sheets. The present refinements also show that a Ca site is about 12% substituted by Tl.
