摘要
A two-reagent system, p-anisidine/ethanol followed by sodium periodate/acetone solution, is described for the detection and differentiation of sugars and sugar derivatives by their color reactions. The sensitivity of the method ranges from 1 to 20 [mu]g, depending on the substances assayed. Polyols, sugar acids, 2-deoxy sugars, amino sugars and their acetyl derivatives, pentoses, and hexoses can be identified and characterized by this method.
