摘要
Site selective conversion of phycocyanobilin dimethyl ester 2 to the ring-A methylimino ester 4 is accompanied by a bathochromic shift of the long wavelength absorption of more than 100 nm. Compared to its ring-D counterpart 3 and the biliverdin imino esters 7 and 8, 4 might yield new insights into phytochrome activity.
