We examine the validity of the empirical linear mixing rule for the determination of the thermodynamic properties of screened binary ionic mixtures interacting with effective density- and temperature-dependent screened Coulomb potentials. Comparison with hypernetted-chain calculations reveals generally good agreement and further verifies the reliability of the linear law, even when the response of the finite-temperature electron gas is taken into account. © 1990 The American Physical Society.
