摘要
Antibiotic failure is uncommon. Apparent antibiotic failure usually is the result of treating noninfectious diseases, untreatable infectious disease, or an infectious disease requiring surgery. The clinician should not add antibiotics to an apparently failing regimen, but rather should search for another explanation.
