摘要：

The relationship between changes in object representation and changes in level of clinical functioning, over the course of intensive treatment of severely disturbed adolescents and young adults, is examined in this study. Eight patients, some of whom showed marked improvement in GAS ratings (Global Assessment Scale) and some of whom did not, were selected for study. It was hypothesized that change in clinical functioning would be reflected in changes in the quality of the representation of significant others.
