A NUMERICAL-METHOD FOR PLASMA EQUILIBRIUM COMPUTATION IN IRON CORE TOKAMAKS

摘要
A numerical method for calculating the plasma equilibrium in a tokamak with an iron core transformer is presented. The influence of the iron core on the plasma equilibrium is considered as an action of the currents in imaginary external poloidal coils. Coupling coefficients allow precomputation of iron core effects on equilibrium. The problem is then converted into solving the MHD equation for an air core tokamak. The calculating region is reduced to a minimum.
