QUANTUM-SIZE EFFECTS IN CURRENT-IN-PLANE GIANT MAGNETORESISTANCE

摘要
Transport in metallic magnetic sandwich structures composed of two ferromagnetic films separated by a nonmagnetic spacer is analysed theoretically within the real space Kubo formalism. The electron system is approximated by the jelium model with step-like and spin-dependent lattice potential. Considerations are restricted to the current-in-plane geometry. The chemical potential is adjusted so that the total number of occupied states is conserved.
