摘要
Plane Poiseuille flow of a rarefied gas is a problem of fundamental interest in vacuum science and technology. In this paper, this problem is solved as based on the linearized Boltzmann equation, rigid sphere intermolecular force, and diffuse reflection at the planar surfaces. Explicit results for the flow rate and velocity profile are obtained. The flow rates, as obtained by two independent methods, are in good mutual agreement, and provide a reasonably good description of the available experimental data. © 1990, American Vacuum Society.
