摘要
Pressure at the fiber-coating interface and stresses in the coating are computed for cooling of single-coated optical fibers. For simplicity the fiber is treated as rigid, mechanically, and thermally. The largest tensile stress in the coating is found to be axial. Several results differ substantially from those presented in a recent publication.
