摘要
We report on a novel approach to grow massive Si1-xGex crystals by a low pressure chemical vapor deposition technique. In particular, we attempt to synthesize gradient crystals suited as monochromators in neutron- (and X-ray) scattering. Structural parameters for a large number of Si1-xGex deposits have been analysed by various techniques from materials science and representative examples are shown. Neutron diffraction profiles demonstrate the high quality of the crystals which could make them well suited for future applications.
