摘要
Naonella n. gen. is described for the first time from the North Island, New Zealand. Diagnoses of males, pupae, and larvae are presented. Naonella can be distinguished by the combination of bare eyes, straight Cu1, well-developed pulvilli, and the absence of acrostichals and anal point in the adult male; the absence of a thoracic horn, and the presence of caudal spines and weak anterior shagreen on tergites II-VII in the pupa; and by a bifid SI, bifid premandible, and the presence of ventromental plates with beard in the larva. Naonella is characterised by monotypy and designated by the type species: Naonella forsythi.
