A COMPARISON OF SIMULATED AND EXPERIMENTAL ABRASIVE STRIPPING VOLTAMMETRIC CURVES OF IONIC-CRYSTALS - REVERSIBLE CASE

摘要
Theoretical abrasive stripping voltammograms of ionic crystals of formula MA(m) (M and A denote a metal and an anion respectively) were constructed using simulation techniques. In the simulation, two activity models were considered for the interfacial species MA(m) and M. Comparison of the obtained theoretical and experimental data allowed the proper model to be chosen. The activity model that fitted the experimental data assumed the activities to be described as mole fractions of the species in a solid mixture. The salts used in the experiments were AgI, AgBr, AgCl and HgS. Simple theoretical formulae describing the peak height, peak potential, and peak width of abrasive-stripping linear-scan voltammograms are proposed.
