摘要
TESTED THE GENERALIZATION THAT INCREASED DRIVE IS ASSOCIATED WITH A REDUCTION IN THE RANGE OF CUE UTILIZATION. IN EXP. I THE PRESENCE OR ABSENCE OF AN AUDIENCE WAS USED TO MANIPULATE DRIVE, WHILE IN EXP. II TASK SUCCESS OR FAILURE WAS EMPLOYED. THE RESULTS OF BOTH EXPERIMENTS INDICATED THAT THE EFFECTS OF CUES, TRIALS, AND THE TRIALS * CUES * DRIVE INTERACTION WERE ALL SIGNIFICANT. THE FINDINGS OF BOTH STUDIES DEMONSTRATE THAT SOCIAL MANIPULATION OF DRIVE LEVEL AFFECTS THE RANGE OF CUE UTILIZATION.
