摘要
During noise-induced temporary threshold shift cytoplasmic vacuoles increase in the synaptic region of auditory hair cells. This structural change in the presynaptic region suggests that afferent synapses between hair cells and auditory nerve fibers fail during the period of threshold elevation, and that synaptic fatigue may play a major role. © 1990.
