LOW-TEMPERATURE STRUCTURAL BEHAVIOR OF SR2RUO4

摘要
Using high-resolution neutron powder diffraction we have shown that in Sr2RuO4 the onset of superconductivity is not accompanied by long-range structural distortions. This is in marked contrast to the isostructural copper-containing layered perovskites and points toward a more conventional superconducting mechanism. We have observed a structural response to the metal-to-insulator phase transition near 100 K.
