摘要
Floret elongation and levels of precarthamin were investigated in freshly collected flowers of Carthamus tinctorius. Accumulation of precarthamin was found to be induced at the early stages of floret elongation. [U-14C]Acetate and [U-14C]phenylalanine were incorporated into precarthamin in the detached florets from the flower bud. The results suggest that precarthamin is synthesized via the acetate-shikimate pathway. © 1990 Annals of Botany Company.
