摘要
Measured density profiles of colloidal suspensions in the gravitational field may be inverted, within the local density approximation, to yield the osmotic equation of state. The feasibility of the procedure is tested by Monte Carlo simulations of the density profiles for two simple models of interacting colloidal particles.
