摘要
The 12-pulse converter bridge associated with a magnetic energy storage unit has a certain freedom in choosing the reactive power consumption. Utilizing this Q-modulation capability of the converter, the MES unit can function as a static VAR controller using a switched capacitor bank, while acting as a load frequency stabilizer at the same time. In this paper, a comprehensive control strategy to achieve the simultaneous modulation of active and reactive power has been formulated. It has been shown that this mode of control greatly improves the overall performance of the P-f and Q-V loops of a power system. © 1990 IEEE
