EFFECT OF NONLOCAL CORRECTIONS TO THE SPIN-DENSITY FUNCTIONAL THEORY FOR THE FERMI-SURFACE OF FERROMAGNETIC NICKEL

摘要
We report on non-local-spin-density functional calculations for ferromagnetic nickel using the first principle linear muffin tin orbital (LMTO) method in the atomic sphere approximation (ASA). Fermi surface areas and their pressure dependence are calculated using the Langreth and Mehl (LM) and Perdew and Wang (PW) exchange correlation potentials. These improved density functionals do not give a significant improvement of the Fermi surface properties.
