2-COMPONENT ORDER PARAMETER, MONTE-CARLO EFFECTIVE POTENTIAL AND THE NATURE OF THE PHASE-TRANSITION IN THE 3-DIMENSIONAL Z3 POTTS-MODEL

摘要
We show that the adequate order parameter for the weak first-order phase transition in the three-dimensional Z3 potts model is the two-component mean magnetization, and the phase transition is controlled by the Ginzburg-Landau-Wilson effective action for the two-component field. We compute the corresponding effective potential from the Monte Carlo generated probability distribution for the order parameter and find that it contains all terms up to phi-6.
