THE BINDING OF BIFUNCTIONAL REAGENTS TO SILANIZED SILICON SURFACES STUDIED BY ANGLE-DEPENDENT X-RAY PHOTOELECTRON-SPECTROSCOPY

摘要
Results of angle-dependent X-ray photoelectron spectroscopic studies on the covalent binding of bifunctional reagents to silanized silicon wafer surface are reported. The results show that a dense and multilayer (more than five layers) silane structure was achieved by silanizing the silicon surface with aminoalkylsilane. The nitrogen atoms in the deposited silane molecules were nearer to the air/silane interface than the silicon atoms. After the amidization of the surface, a monolayer of SPDP molecules was bound on the silane surface with their pyridyl disulphide groups accessible for the further reaction. A polymeric form glutaraldehyde was observed when it bound to the silane surface.
