摘要
The temperature dependence of the magnetoresistance for Co/Ru/Co sandwiches and superlattices has been investigated. It was found that the magnetoresistance is strongly dependent on the temperature and oscillates as a function of Ru thickness with different shape and phase of oscillation between RT and 4.2 K. This has been attributed to the existence of a large mixed CoRu diluted region at the interfaces, the magnetism of which shows a strong dependence on temperature. This induces a local change in the Curie temperature in this region and results in a small change in the magnetic nature of the interfaces with the temperature. This effect is at the origin of (i) the rapid decrease with temperature of the antiferromagnetic exchange coupling between adjacent cobalt layers due to a change in the topology of the Fermi surface, and (ii) the significant variation in the magnetoresistance, which indicates that the origin of the magnetoresistance arises from spin-dependent scattering from magnetic states predominantly localized at the magnetic/non-magnetic interfaces.
