摘要
The theory that cholestasis is a result of the failure of pericanalicular microfilaments to contract is discussed. The theory rests on the supposition that microfilaments contain contractile proteins. Agents that affect microfilament function are shown to cause cholestasis. Experiments in man and rat draw analogies between smooth muscle contraction and microfilaments, and hormonal control of both systems is discussed. Biochemical and physiological evidence is cited throughout as proof.
