摘要
In conventional NMR investigations, compact samples are inserted into the measurement apparatus. When measurements are to be made on earth formations in situ, or on other bulky objects, an entirely different apparatus configuration is required. A new "inside-out" NMR apparatus has been constructed which generates a strong, homogeneous static magnetic field and an orthogonally directed radiofrequency magnetic field in an external region. The apparatus is composed of permanent magnets and a unique ferrite-filled RF antenna which has been designed for maximum efficiency and freedom from magnetoacoustic effects. Factors affecting the signal-to-noise ratio are discussed. © 1992.
