摘要
Parathiocyanogen or polythiocyanogen (SCN)x has been prepared by the action of chlorine over solid NaSCN. It is shown by comparing the IR and UV spectra of parathiocyanogen with those of NaSCN, Na(SCN)3 and a triazine-based model compound that (SCN)x has not a triazine-based structure. A linear structure similar to that assigned to polysulphur nitride is proposed.
