摘要
The chemical reaction between a microdroplet of the olefin, 1-octadecene, and the reactive halogen, bromine vapor, has been studied by means of Raman spectroscopy and simultaneously by gravimetric analysis. A single droplet was levitated electrodynamically in a flow reactor, and a bromine/nitrogen stream flowed through the chamber. The effects of morphological resonances on the Raman emission are shown to be a complicating factor in the interpretation of the Raman signals from microdroplets, but the Raman data are in agreement with the gravimetric measurements. Analysis of the kinetics data indicates that the reaction can be modeled as third order in dissolved bromide concentration and first order with respect to the octadecene concentration. This result is consistent with earlier studies of bromine/olefin reactions.
