COPOLYMERS OF SUBSTITUTED ACETYLENES AND ETHYNYLBENZOCYCLOBUTENES

摘要
Random copolymers of substituted acetylenes with various amounts of similarly substituted ethynylbenzocyclobutenes were synthesized: phenylacetylene/ethynylbenzocyclobutene; 1-phenylpropyne/1-(4-benzocyclobutenyl)-1-propyne; and 1-chloro-2-phenylacetylene/1-chloro-2-benzocyclobutenylacetylene. Successful cures were obtained only for the chloro-substituted alkynes; the other two coploymers partly degraded under the elevated temperatures and pressures of the curing conditions.
