A (J)c of 14000 A/cm2 at 77 K and 0.1 T and 6200 A/cm2 at 77 K and 1 T has been achieved in the Ag-clad Bi-based superconducting tape. The J(c) in a magnetic field is likely to be controlled by the flux pinning. The high density of dislocation lines and planar defects are considered to act as flux pinning centers.
