ELECTROCHEMISTRY AT HIGH-TC SUPERCONDUCTORS IN THEIR NORMAL STATE

摘要
The authors report on electron transfer reactions at room temperature at electrodes made from high-Tc superconductor materials. Experimental data indicate that the new superconductor materials in their normal state behave as ordinary electronic conductor charge transfer electrodes for non-demanding reactions like the oxidation/reduction of large ligands where no major solvent reorganization occurs. But for the reduction of dissolved metal ions like copper (similar effects were also found with Fe(III) perchlorate in AN) which are more demanding since they require extensive solvent reorganization the new materials show large overpotentials.
