摘要
Multiple-unit acoustic responses were recorded from exposed cochlear nuclei in acutely decerebrated cats during repeated presentations of 1 s white noise or tone at 5 s intervals, a paradigm known to produce threshold cochlear nucleus response decrements in both intact and decerebrate preparations. The cochlear nucleus was surgically isolated from recurrent fiber projections in or adjacent to the trapezoid body or coursing laterally to the nucleus at the level of the superior olivary complex. Partially reversible response decrements developed in the isolated cochlear nucleus which were somewhat larger than the threshold decrements of the nonisolated nucleus. Cochlear nucleus response decrements may be generated by mechanisms intrinsic to the nucleus.
