摘要
Electrical contact behavior is well predicted by contact resistance; so its measurement is a useful method for testing contact material under various conditions and for various applications. In automobile contact area, nominal contact resistance is required with low cost materials such as copper alloys working in a wide current range (1-mu-A-50 A) and forces (1 to several 10 N). In this paper we develop the study of contact resistance of materials in their initial state versus load, both in the inserting phase and during fretting motion. A specific test machine has been developed which allows statistical measurements under different initial conditions: base materials, contact shapes, and loads. The main results are the contact resistance law versus load: R(c) = k(c)F(c)-n and the insertion force law F(i) = k(i)F(c)m where the constants k(c), k(i), n and m are correlated with material resistivity and contact shape characteristics.
