CLEARLY RESOLVED EXCITON PEAKS IN CDSXSE1-X MICROCRYSTALLITES BY MODULATION SPECTROSCOPY

摘要
Absorption peaks of excitons in CdSxSe1-x microcrystallites are clearly resolved by modulation spectroscopy, and peak shifts due to quantum confinement effect are determined with much higher precision than ordinary absorption spectroscopy. Spin-orbit splitting is found to be nearly constant for radii in the range of 10 to 50 A. When an electric field is applied, both broadenings and shifts are observed. The mechanisms of these effects are discussed. © 1990.
