摘要
Surface roughness is an important measure of quality in metalcutting. Because the surface roughness measure is related to cutting tool wear, this paper develops an efficient surface roughness monitoring and control procedure that combines statistical analysis and the physics of the cutting tool wear mechanism. Examples and data are taken from an actual machining operation.
